Meat Liquor

Hey My Lovelies,
Sorry if it's seems like I've been MIA, I usually blog 2-3 times a week, but have only managed to blog once. Shame on me! But I've been having a really fantastic week, I'm back on top of house hunting, I've bought myself a new camera so been trying out a few new camera tricks and I've been offered a new job, which I start end of April! So to celebrate, me and Elliot went out for a bite to eat. We went to a place in London called Meat Liquor, which was recommended by my friend Sandy. I abolustely loved this place, its my new favourite place to eat.

It was very different to your normal burger joint. I should say that if you don't like sitting in the dark with taboo images all around you and loud music, this is probably not your scene. I loved the decor, with its extreme revoluntionary, dark and alternative themes, it made it more fun and exciting to eat a burger! The music was loud and intense, but it was still possible to carry a conversation.

The food was sooo good! It looks like grubby backstreet food as they bring it out to you on a tray, but the taste is absolute quality. I ordered the "Dirty Chicken Burger" with fries and Elliot had a cheeseburger with cheesy fries. Sorry about the photo by the way, I had trouble with my camera so had to take some photos with my phone.

They do a wide range of cocktails, which have unusual names, such as "The Zombie" and come in cool jars. For dessert we order the Peanut Butter Sundae, which was crazy delicious.

The service was amazing. We were told we would have to wait 20 minutes and that we are welcome to sit by the bar and wait. As soon as we got to the bar, we were already being summonded over to our table. The waiter was very friendly and quite a funny guy, which was nice.

If you've been to Meat Liquor, then let me know what you think of it. Or if you know of any better
or your favourite burger place.

Have a good weekend peeps x

Let There Be Sunshine: OOTD

What a lovely Sunday it was! Did everyone have a nice weekend? As the weather was looking fantastic, I met up with my friend, Bhavna for lunch and shopping in Central London. We had such a lovely time trawling though the shops. I managed to grab myself some cute summer tops, some glittery nail polishes and a few other bits... I might have to do a shopping haul to show you all my buys.

This outfit I'm wearing was so fun to put together, and great for spring! The cardigan was a bit too warm for the glorious sunday weather, but became useful in the evening when it got a bit chilly. This is my favourite cardi at the moment, you can't see in the photos but it's a bat wing cardi.

Anyway, in my Liebster Award post, I mentioned that I often decide what I wear based on the music I'm listening to at the time. Anyway, I've decided that whenever I do a OOTD post, I'll do a song of the day (SOTD) aswell.

Have a great week peeps!

 photo liebsterblogaward_zps6d770c9f.png
Hey My Lovelies,

Adetutu (adezeezee.blogspot.co.uk) and Rosa (rosafashionsportsandmore.blogspot.nl) nominated me to do the Liebster Award. Thanks both!

To be honest, I had no idea what the Liebster Awards were until I was nominated. I was expecting a big award ceremony, with red carpet dresses and people crying during their speeches... However, after a few Google searches (Thank goodness for Google) I discovered that the Liebster Award is a way to help relatively new bloggers become more known.

The rules:
  1. You must link the person's blog who nominated you for the award
  2. Answer the 11 questions given by the person who nominated you
  3. Pick an additional 11 people to nominate with UNDER 200 blog followers
  4. You cannot nominate the blogger who nominated you
  5. You must inform the nominees that you have nominated
Okay, so because I have had 2 people nominate me, I'll answer 22 questions in total. I thought I'd stick in a few photos to make it more fun.

Adetutu's questions and my answers:

1.       Year you started blogging and what was the title of your 1st post?

What Doesn't Kill You, Makes You Stronger

Hey My Lovelies,

So with the weather looking hopeful and spring/summer underway, I decided it's time to start a new fitness regime. As a teenager, I always loved fitness and I used to be pretty sporty. I did athletics in primary school and high school, and believe it or not, my favourite subject was P.E. But since leaving education and gaining more responsibilities, I have not had the time or the push I need to keep fit. So I've decided to start a new fitness regime and dedicate myself to it. Although I look worn out from an intense run moments before, I thought I'd take some photos. Let me know what you think or if you have any other workout suggestions for me.

RiRi's Fitness Regime:
  • Yoga - 20 mins
I've only just started Yoga and I'm loving it. I'm still a beginner, so I struggle at some of the more expert positions, but I love it. It's great for stretching out those muscles, before going jogging. I also use yoga to relax myself and take away any negative tension as I get bad anxiety. I usually just find a few Yoga videos on YouTube and follow them.
  • Light Jog
As a natural runner, I do enjoy a good jog. But as I haven't really gone for a long run in ages, I thought I should start off slow and easy. I don't really have a specific amount of time I jog for yet. I usually just go around the block once or twice, depending on how I'm feeling. Once round for me is 1.32km. I use MapMyRun.com, which is a useful website to keep track of your work outs.

  • Abs Session
I'm mostly keen on working on my abs, everyone wishes for tight, rock hard abs. Below are a list of ab workouts I've done and that have really worked for me. You really feel the pain after, which shows that they work. Especially with crunches, which I find difficult to do, but work wonders.

Sit-Ups (20)

Half-Sits (10)

Crunches (10)

Dumbbells Side Bends (10 on each side)

Sit Up Twists (10)

....And Breathe...

I usually take a 5 minute water break at this point

Press Ups (5)

I'm really rubbish at press ups, but I tried my best :)

 Upwards Plank (30 seconds)

Downwards Plank (30 Seconds)

Side Plank (30 Seconds each side)

Hula Hoops (1 Minute each way)

The White Bear

On Friday, I went to lunch with Elliot's mum and grandmother to a lovely countryside pub called The White Bear. I love this pub, it's very old ye England. It has a nice country cottage feel to it, making it feel all cosy inside.

The food was nice, it was basic country pub food. I had a chargrilled chicken sandwich and chips. Sorry, I forgot to take photo! (I bow my head in shame)

Afterwards, we went for a stroll around the area.
There was farmland around the pub, we saw lots of horses and sheep as we walked around.

Brighton Love

Over the weekend, Elliot and I spent a few days in Brighton, which was great fun. Spending time in Brighton has always been a life long tradition for me, it has always reminded me of road trips there with my family. And even though road trips to Brighton with the family have stopped now that I've gotten older, I've always promised myself that I will spend a few days there each year. I've always said that if I couldn't live in London, Brighton would be my next choice of location. There is just so much to do and it's a nice little break away.

My favourite thing about Brighton has to be the Lanes. I love the little narrow streets and the vintage shops. I can spend forever walking around there, there's always something you'll never expect to find. The first thing we do when we go to the Lanes, is pop into this little cupcake shop called Angel Food Bakery... The cupcakes in here are just to die for! I had the 'Red Velvet' cupcake, which is just too delicious for words.

'Red Velvet' and Cloudy Apple Juice!

Yes, of course I had to buy these shoes! I mean, come on... they are my two most favourite things in the world put together... Shoes & Ice Cream! I found these in a shop called 'Pretty Eccentric'. They are Melissa Collection, designed by Karl Lagerfeld. They had these in 3 other colours... I liked them in black but they didn't have my size, so I've ordered them online... can't wait to get them.

We went to a lovely Vietnamese restaurant called 'Pho'. Not too sure how you pronounce it... let me know if you do. It was really nice inside, the interior was cool and the waiters were friendly. I cannot remember the name of the dish I had, but it was noodles, prawns, chicken and nuts... it was really tasty. After we went to JB's American Diner for dessert. I love it in there, there are so many famous photo's on the wall and classic American memorabilia.
